I’m all about communicating compelling stories by weaving together language and images.

Ever since I moved to Toronto in 2007 to study photography, I’ve been driven by the power of storytelling to create social change. This is what has led me to a career in communications.

A quote comes to mind from Ojibwe author and journalist Richard Wagamese that is perfectly located at the entrance of the photography wing at the Art Gallery of Ontario:

“All that we are is story. From the moment we are born to the time we continue on our spirit journey, we are involved in the creation of the story of our time here. It is what we arrive with. It is all we leave behind. We are not the things we accumulate. We are not the things we deem important. We are story. All of us. What comes to matter then is the creation of the best possible story we can while we’re here; you, me, us, together. When we can do that and we take the time to share those stories with each other, we get bigger inside, we see each other, we recognize our kinship – we change the world, one story at a time.”

From working at youth organizations teaching young people how to share their stories through photography, to organizing political campaigns that tell the stories of individuals and communities to bring progressive change, my unique blend of experience allows me to view challenges and opportunities through a creative and strategic lens.

These experiences have led me to truly believe that we can come together to make the world a better place for everyone, one story at a time.
